ILD Disease, symptoms causes, tests, precautions, treatment in Ayurveda, ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) refers to a group of lung diseases that affect the interstitium, the tissue, and the space surrounding the air sacs in the lungs.
These diseases cause inflammation and scarring of the lung tissue, leading to breathing difficulties and reduced lung function.
SYMPTOMS:
-Shortness of breath
-Dry cough
-Fatigue
-Weight loss
-Chest pain
-Clubbing of fingers and toes
CAUSES:
-Exposure to environmental toxins, such as asbestos or silica
-Autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus
-Infections such as pneumonia or tuberculosis
-Genetic predisposition
TESTS:
-Chest X-ray
-Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
-High-resolution computed tomography (HRCT)
-Bronchoscopy
-Lung biopsy
PRECAUTIONS:
-Avoid exposure to environmental toxins
-Quit smoking
-Maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly
-Practice stress-reducing techniques, such as yoga and meditation
TREATMENT IN AYURVEDA:
In Ayurveda, ILD is treated by addressing the underlying imbalances in the body that lead to the disease. Treatment may include herbal remedies; ayurvedic herbs may reduce inflammation and improve lung function. Dietary changes include healthy foods and lifestyle modifications like regular exercise, yoga, meditation, etc.
