Northrop YF-23 - A Short History

The Northrop YF-23 was an American single-seat, twin-engine stealth fighter aircraft technology demonstrator. It was developed by Northrop and McDonnell Douglas as a proposal for the Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF), and was selected as a finalist. Ultimately it lost to the Lockheed YF-22.

The Norhtrop YF-23 was stealthier and faster, but less agile than its competitor. Two prototypes were built and flight tested.
