Ron visits a man in Kansas who built his own bunker using ICF concrete walls. This doomsday bunker has a spiral staircase leading down to a giant room with 10ft ceiling’s. This is a great video for do-it yourself type of preppers.

Much respect for a pro not having such a giant ego that he can't admit someone else did something right. I'm impressed.

One thing.
As I get older, i'm thinking that "Stairs" instead of "Ladders" are a must.

I would redact the video and cover the license plate before somebody figures out where he's got all that ammo

We win just by watching these Atlas videos.

He needs some UGL water sealer for walls, the stains bleeding through walls is a sign of hydro static pressure which may not cause water to build up and flood floor but the humidity breeds mold long term.

Love the wall of ammo. Mind blown. Best response, "enough for the weekend". 308

We should be careful on money useage, if you are not spending to earn back, then stop spending.

$100k about 10 years ago... wow. More like $150-200 now. Plus peace of mind is priceless!!!

yes it looks super cool but the escape hatch is flat so if something lands on it its no escape hatch, when you say about nuclear stuff it needs lead and loads of soil above then what happens with the tubes going in to the lawn and the hatch is not sealed, it is a cool idea but in the uk our gardens in general are the size of a usa garage 🤭

As a firefighter all that exposed foam would make me nervous, compared to what he has spent on other things covering it all in affordable sheet rock would not be that expensive, even plywood would be a lot safer than foam.

I look forward to the day when Ron posts a video building that legendary California Platinum Bunker floor plan. Looks like a massive underground garage on the website.

He built a basement, just extra deep. Air system and some Generac / Tesla batteries with cameras and monitors. I think I'd recommend making the escape hatch more secure, but nothing else comes to mind. All he really needs is to update his tech, and he's okay. Shout out to my navy bros, 127.

Love your work! All you guys need is EMF/EMP rated server rack for surveillance camera systems, via PoE or similar, and some sort of drive array for storing all of wikipedia, survival guides, and training manuals, and with the size of SSD's now, could even make a backup drive that you keep inside a faraday cage

411....Definitely one of the better home made shelters I've seen. Would love to have one in the future.

Man i think if that were mine, i'd finish it out to an extent and put in some CC TVs from the surface. 42.

Many DIYers (including myself) would LOVE more detail from your current guest about how he did this. It's a more cost effective way that opens up the bunker idea to a much larger group who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.

A tip regarding the guns:

If you think your shelter is gonna be used some day for the reasons you plan to use it for, don't have multiple different kinds of guns, have everyone trained to use the same model of gun and if you have to have more than one of them in your shelter or home, then get as many as you need.

The reason:

Because if things get crazy and people get disorganized, one thing you don't want are multiple different kinds of mags for multiple different kinds of guns. If it's dark and you gotta feel around for shit when the heat's on, you don't wanna grab an SKS mag when you need an AR mag or a Desert Eagle mag for your glock 40 and so on and so forth.
