To be a better car expert, you must pronounce Porsche with TWO syllables! This is the ultimate Porsche pronunciation guide.

It doesn’t matter what language you speak, a proper noun’s pronunciation is determined by its owner. And Porsche says it's Poor-Sha.

If you're too lazy to say it right, you're a douc... (cough.) Just watch the video, okay?

Disappointed that the Youtube algorithm didn't suggest these earlier. I love them all. Great Job Jason.

Not just a German word, like "spracht" or "zwei", but a family name. It retains its pronunciation across borders and languages (unless of course the family decides to alter it after emigrating to ease integration into their new community, for example).

Germans pronounce it as “Por-Scheh”, not “Por-ScheAAA”.

Thank you, Jason, for clarifying how Porsche SHOULD be pronounced(in TWO syllables!)!

SO glad you’re back, you’re definitely one of my fav car guys.
... but please stop perpetuating the incorrect pronunciation. There is no “a” at the end of Porsche. It’s a short flat “e”. You doucha 😂

I was also glad to have the pronunciation² of Lancia¹ clarified last year, in one of Jason's old 'Spotlight' video from memory. 🙂

¹ pronounced as 'LAHN-chia' (despite what Google's Murican and Britsh style guide tells you. 😒)
² pronounced as 'proe-nunsy-Ay-shun'

Do you call BMWs bee-em-vays? Because that's how that one is pronounced.

Thank you. I keep correcting people all the time. It's the only bad thing about owning a 911.

I've been saying that for years, but as an immigrant, my words don't carry the same weight. Thanks, Jason :)

Jason please do this type of video with more cars. Like the Urus, which people pronounce Er-us, not You-ruce like the Italians do.

I speak German and you’re correct, Porsche is pronounced with 2 syllables. However, Germans also drop the e and replace it with an apostrophe sometimes. Eg “Ich hab’ “ instead of “ich habe”. I’m not sure germans never say “Porsche’ “ as in a vernacular way. Sort of like saying “goin’ “. Know what I’m sayin?
