Unreported 'SECOND JET' Involved In Friendly Fire Incident Over The Red Sea

On the same night a U.S. Navy fighter jet was shot down over the Red Sea, a second jet nearly suffered the same fate. An F/A-18 Super Hornet – flying a few miles behind the Hornet that was shot down – was forced to take evasive maneuvers after a second surface-to-air missile was fired from the cruiser USS Gettysburg, narrowly missing the second jet by 100 feet while it prepared to land aboard the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman, a source with knowledge of the incident told Fox News.

As for the cruiser firing twice, I'm pretty sure it was a single incident. They didn't fire one missile, watch it shoot down a plane, then fire another one. It was most likely a volley of two missiles fired one after the other.

This video is what happens when someone with no knowledge of these things decides to form an opinion way too early. Planes operating from carriers are termed "flying from." The Hornet was in the landing pattern. No attempt at misinformation. Further the Hornet costs nowhere near :hundreds of millions, " and you need to know something about how defensive missile systems are operated.
