I am female engineer, one of two out of my class of 37 engineers. On the other hand, we were both top 1/3 and graduated cum laude or higher. Even with those odds, you can’t fill 50% of your work force with us.

If the engineers don't exist, you can't hire them. If you insist on producing them from people who don't wanna, then they won't be competent or happy.

it's the difference between "Picking" 50, and "scrounging up" 50.

top 50 engineers sounds nice when you don't tell people the pool of engineers is only 51 people.
