Once I set up my home office my ideal dream setup is a maxed out M1 Mac Mini with an ultra wide 49” monitor much like yours. Love the views of all that sweet sweet productivity. You should make a video dedicated to that lol. And btw you have an awesome accent!

I am thinking of changing my Macbook Pro Intel 2020, with mac mini m1.
I had just bought that one 3 months before the m1s came out (had to for work) and regretting it since then.

The configuration is i7 with 16GB ram, but even with this specs is so much slower than a m1 macbook pro with only 8GB.
Do you think is a good idea to make this switch? I can do the trade-in in my nearest apple store and it covers the m1 mini entirely. Could even get a trackpad within the price haha

Hey Pete, thanks for the review it was most informative and only confirmed my suspicion that the new M1 Mac mini is the way to go for me to upgrade my mid 2010 27" iMac. I think you hit the nail on the head regarding S/W compatibility so am wondering if you can review the Rosetta2 engine on these M1 machines please? For my work I need to use AWS Workspaces client but I am uncertain how well, or even if, this app will run on the new M1 Mac mini. Cheers

Ive got an M1 Macbook Pro on order. Im currently using a 2018 Mac Mini (i7 3.2, 32gb Ram) on my desk and a 2017 Macbook Pro (i7, 16gb Ram).

MBP starting to play up, battery life is shot and crashes frequently. Still love my Mac Mini tho.

Great Comparison, would love to see a comparison against the M1 MBP too - I switch to one from my old 2017 15" MBP and it's worlds apart - be interesting to see if there is much difference between the M1 Mac Mini and M1 MBP - only time I really find fan noise is on long MS Teams Calls - only downside of no fan noise is I can now hear the main light in my office buzzing!

I have a 10 year thinkpad x230 and I usually open around 100 tabs, not 22, without any problem. Besides it has 2TB SSD and 16G memory. Not sure how much this will cost for a mac mini.

You did a great job on this video, keep it up and, I subscribed. I have the base spec M1 MBAir. It replaced a 2020 Intel I5 MBAir. The M1 is far superior in performance, battery life and, most pleasurable, no fan. The Intel version had fan noise as soon as you start watching a video. M1's are definitely the way to go if you're buying a new Mac. The upcoming Mac M1X/M2 upgrades will further increase performance and efficiency.

know? Do both options come with WIFI?

Are these Mac mini trouble free and can they get hot over time. Is
16gb sufficient for just surfing and using Microsoft office?

I am still curious about the fanless macbook air, I am a soft engineer student, and I can’t still choose the which one to get macbook prom1 or the air m1 there is 300$ difference..
My old macbook pro 2020 i5 model had a fan and heat problem that’s why I am curious.
