A Holocaust survivor has told of his memories of being separated from his mother at the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War Two.

Frank Bright, now 88 and living in Suffolk, was 16 years old when he lost his parents in the Nazi genocide against Europe's Jews.

"It was the stench of death," he says. "People had the power of life and death over you. It was hell on Earth."

I would have broken down finding out my mother or father died this way. They are everything to me. I am so grateful none of us went through what this man and many other Jews had to deal with. Thank you for your story sir.

for some reason, no one commented. all I wanted to say was that I feel terribly sorry for this man. I hope that nothing like this EVER happens in history again. ever.
