Blackout is a general term for a loss of memory, and the most common cause is a rapid increase in blood alcohol levels. This is sometimes called alcohol-induced amnesia.

There is a huge difference between blacking out and passing out. When a person passes out, they lose consciousness and are in a state similar to being asleep, although they are not likely to respond to stimuli like being spoken to or touched. When a person blacks out, they may continue to make decisions, hold conversations, and even continue to drink. They appear to be conscious, but they will not remember what happened.

Last sunday I got blackout drunk on the way home tripped and fell. Dont remember anything after that. Woke up in bed with blood on my head, my chest and shoulder hurting. My glasses and phone missing. Im a 10 min walk from home dont understand why no one called cops or ambulance. I obviously had passed out for a couple minutes. My recent blackout episode was during my friends birthday party after having another cocktail I blacked out and I woke up $21 left plus I found a bottle of Jack Daniels and Coke in my fridge. I don’t remember buying them. Don’t remember going to the store, but I must’ve. I’m glad I made it home safe, but it scared the living shit out of me that I don’t remember doing these things

Im 28 i drink till no point of return and my black out cause chaos to everyone around me to be disappointed and distance themselves now left with no one or it will make me take high life risk I’ll either go jail for weeks then get back out or me waking up with bruises all over idk that so normal been going through this for the last 5-6 year never got real help, I need help but my life a mess I still run to the drink there nothing life changing here just sadness and sorrow the pain don’t go away .broken family and friends, ex, just pay check to pay check .Go gym here there but lost majority of motivation I’m still maintaining but this not it .

I had it this Sunday. It was horrible I falled down and my sister pulled cold water on me, I lost conscience 2 times in one night and ended up in hospital. With ambulance and police 😱. I need any help of how to stop alcohol and I can advise anyone who never tasted alcohol to never do. I hate alcohol and feel ashamed 😞

In recent years it has been very easy for me to blackout, I don't even need to drink that much for me to blackout now a days. Is it a bad thing? Cuz I'm starting to get worried

I guess the reason people can still be tried with a crime even though they are blackout drunk is that they can't prove it but if someone is blackout drunk I think it will be really hard to convict them of crime, they had no control and don't even remember what happened. It feels wrong ya know. Always be responsible while drinking!

What is it called when you stand up, everything goes black and you feel like you’re slowly falling down. This happened to me when I was in my bathroom, everything started to slowly go black and I felt like I was in slow motion. Then everything cleared up and I was laying on the ground. I was conscious during it but I wasn’t able to really do anything. If anyone has any information about this please let me know. It was really fucking scary
