Before GW turned him in to a dime novel villain, he truly was one of the most tragic characters in 40k. You ALMOST felt sorry for him.

I love how these three things aren't the same in 40k.
Getting torn to pieces actually seems like a good option, considering what a horrible death might mean in the grim future. And don't even get me started on becoming warp sludge.

I only hope for the day Mortarion will have his revenge on typhus (yes I hate typhus more than Erebus. At least I find Erebus fun by how cartoonish his vilainy is)

A lot of people seem to dislike Mortarion because he's a "Hypocrite". Let me clear some things up, Mortarion's whole theme was Irony, while Conrad Curz was Hypocrisy.

Mortarion never wished to join Chaos, never wanted to submit to Nurgle, and he never wanted to be a Psyker (you don't just turn into that, your either born one or not, unless the Author says different.) and was tricked by Typhus into leading their entire Legion to Nurgle's doorsteps.

Mortarion is by far the strongest primarch durability wise, and the plague brought upon him would have literally killed any of the other Primarchs and their sons. And if he didn't make the deal, they would still be in there being tortured to this day.

People who don't like Mortarion either have never read about him and only get their sources from the Loyalist fandom, doesn't like him because "he's ugly", and the people who hate him for that are all claimed by Slaanesh since their favorite faction was probably picked by looks

But I can say that everytime someone claims Morty is a Hypocrite, a Night Lord is smiling that no one is talking about their daddy

I loved this series, but Mortarion was so short sighted. He was warned by Typhus about three times about minding his place in the Grandfathers hierarchy. I swear that almost all Traitor Primarchs, except for Abaddon the Despoiler, all are so single minded and focused on one thing that they forget about planning for contingencies and such.
