I believe that the multiple small berries is called shotberries and may be a developmental issue following poor conditions at the time of flower fertilisation. We had a very poor spring this year (2023) just at pollination time and the fruit setting was compromised by the cool damp conditions. I have a tree with thousands of 3-4mm berries and one proper fruit!
I also understand that it may, going forward, exacerbate the phenomenon where the tree alternates between heavy and light cropping which is a natural feature of the species. I am going to try striking a few cuttings this year for fun.

Lovely trees. For my trees is use 1 part perlite, 1 part molar clay and 1 compost, John innes no 3, or multi purpose compost with added John innes.
What substrate do you use? I can see you're trees are outside in the elements too. I hope you answer! Thankyou 🙏

I'm growing an olive tree from a cutting, how do you create the corkscrew. can you apply the same principle to another tree such as a bay tree or box tree

How do I get my olive tree leaves to grow thicker and thinner? In the past year many new leaves come out at the same time but they are often much larger than the older leaves, much brighter green and not as thick. I see these small potted olive trees and their new leaves look very much like the older ones. Not mine.

I hope you don’t mind me asking for olive tree advice. I have just moved into a house with olive trees in 4 different situations! I would love to make the best of them somehow.

2 standard in pots look about 3-4 yrs old

A 5ft wonky ex? standard in the ground growing at 45degrees, looks like a pot to ground transfer.

A very thick trunked 6ft uneven wild olive tree in a 400litre-ish container that only grows on one side due to being up against a fence. I imagine it cost quite a bit, looks like a mature-ish trunk it grows in sprouts. But has hardly any growth on it at all. Looks
Like it’s been abandoned for a long time and I guess not enough water year after year. How could I get these into the ground? How much root can I remove?

And lastly 2 tall skinny olive trees in the ground that have grown 1-3 ft in height in a year. These is in the shade but too big to move.

Are there some simple do’s and don’t I could apply across the board? I am considering putting the smaller ones in the ground at the very sunny end of the garden.

Got an olive tree but no progress over 3 yeara, i have put it in direct sun in south facing but the fruit never grows, no new leavea or branches.
Should i feed it, if so with what?

How long can they stay in pots? I have 3. . But one of them is huge & in a huge pot - there's no way I could ever repot it !
