The A7RIII is my pick out of the group. As someone who primarily shoots video but also dabbles in photography, I appreciate that you can get a pretty damn good video from a camera that doesn't compromise for photos. Sure, the lowlight isn't as powerful as the A7SII, but I'd say the lowlight footage on the A7R is still quite usable. Also, the improved battery on the A7RIII seals the deal for me.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but this is what I gathered. The Sony A7iii is the greatest balance of you want to shoot both photography and video.

The A7riii and the A9 favor photographers more.

A7riii has the sharpest video quality out of all the cameras which a slightly better noticeable difference. The negative to that is that it doesn’t perform as well in lower light scenarios for video (not sure if that applies to photography or not). To compensate that, if you have/get lighting equipment, that should eliminate those low light problems leaving you with amazing quality for both photography and videography. Plus if you’re a photographer, your blown up portraits are looking noticeably better than compare to the a7iii.

The A9 is a god body camera and bears the crap out of both of these cameras when it comes to pure photography. If you need to capture speed and want the most professional photo quality, the A9 gets it done.

For the price, you really just can’t beat the a7iii as it can be really great for both photo and video which is why most people I’ve seen purchase the versatility.

I have the Sony A7s and I think it's a pretty good camera with a great full HD quality. You can get one pretty "cheap" because it's not the newest camera. The lowlight performance is amazing. I am also thinking about getting a Atomos recorder to shoot 4k.

Looking to replace my a77v with the a7Riii- I don't need the A9 which is a beast, and the 6500 would be nice for travel, but I'm looking to do a variety of sports, landscapes and videos so my gut tells me the a7Riii would be the perfect fit. Not sure if I'd keep my old 'a' mount lenses and buy the adapter, or scrap and start building an 'e' fleet of lenses.

What would you suggest for low-light action photography? I mainly shoot concerts with lasers and fast moving lights which makes it hard to focus but also hard to balance noise and shutter speed. I’m currently using an a6000 so an upgrade is much needed. Any advice is appreciated!
