NEVER do THIS your First Week at a New Job! I was listening to Nick Viall’s podcast “The Viall Files” the other week and he brought up a VERY common workplace problem that you definitely don’t want to do. Today we’re going to talk all about it. And yes, this video was inspired by Nick Viall. Like, from the Bachelor. It really is true inspiration can come from anywhere. Thanks Nick!

I got the job. I never asked questions at the end of the interview but I realized how that can show a lack of interest. I picked something that wasn't 100% clear on the job description and asked about that + what they describe a top performer as. These got a great reaction from the interview panel, gave me extra time to show them what I can bring to the table and I got a job offer call the next day. Thanks Cass!

I got the job!! I asked the hesitancy question at the end. The interviewer was taken aback a bit but gave me a positive response. Two hours after the interview I got the job offer. I start Feb 3rd. Please keep doing these videos, they’re very helpful.

Just started a new job and I find myself zoning out during the course of the day. There are moments whilst being trained whereby I can sense that I’m not retaining anything. I’m taking notes but aside from feeling overwhelmed I find myself questioning why I’m there (the passion isn’t there)

I got a job! Your tips are so fantastic that I recommend them to others that are searching for new jobs as well! I start the new job (training) next week (Feb 3rd) and I have already watched your First Week video and the one above. Thank you!!!

I wanted to let you know I got a job and used the question, "What is a normal work week look like?" They loved the question! Thank you for your help and the convenience to conquer my interview!

I got a job!!! I graduated back in May and was having a hard time finding a job without experience. Thankfully, I ran into your videos and just landed a job at Nationwide as a Java Developer! You’re tips on questions to ask on interviews and how to prepare for interviews were extremely helpful. Thank you!!

Yes, yes, yes! This is great! 100% agree with all you said. I am a supervisor and help train all of my staff. This is my #1 pet peeve ~ people not taking notes and then asking the same question over and over again. I assure them that I have been at this job for 10 years and still write things down to reference them. Some get the hint and take notes others still tell me they will remember. 9 times out of 10 I end up forcing them to write the notes and then the next time they ask me the same question, even after writing it down, I have them get out their notes. Eventually the point gets across and When they come to me they are quick to let me know they have referenced their notes but still have a question....in that case I’m all yours to help you work through what you don’t understand.

I got the job! I stumbled across your page and watched your videos over and over while taking notes and practicing! I was their first interview of the day, and I got the job before the day was over. Thank you a million times over. I never realized how unprepared I was going into past job interviews. I really really wanted this job, thanks to your help and insight I got it! 😭😭😭😭

Your interviewing tips have been golden! I got the job I wanted. They loved the questions I had to ask. I had my stories prepared (they literally asked all the questions you suggested they might ask). I was prepared to the max and I got the job! I'm beyond thrilled. Thank you for these vids and tips. You're the best!

I just got a job tonight! I was prepared with resume copies, my cover letter and references. I was mindful of my body language and I asked the hard question!!! Thank you! I will be putting these tips in practice for my first week as a bartender!!!!

I've always been a note taker. Very detail oriented. But when I got fired (by the sales manager) she told me over the phone in my GM's office, that my being detail oriented "can be detrimental!"
I highly disagree. I had to train a girl one day and she took zero notes and just wanted to make some popcorn. They kept her. Go figure. 😳

Starting a new job tomorrow, thank you for the tips. I will take notes, notes, notes, when being told a task.

Sorry I don't agree. Sometimes organisations have no idea how to train staff.

Thank you so much for all of your advice. I've been at home for my special needs son and was having real trouble getting a job now that he has graduated. The weekend before I had 2 interviews I watched your videos practically non stop... I ended up getting one of those jobs, then another job later that week because I hooked them on the phone interview. So nothing for months, then bam, 2 jobs. I chose the one that isn't just a salary, I really love what I'll be doing! So in the space of 2 weeks, I got a job I wanted and because of that was able to get the slightly pricier apartment I wanted as well! Moving to the city and getting a life for myself again and I swear it a lot of it was down to how I changed my interview approach! Thank you :-) - Tania

I got a job! Thank you so much for all the great advice. Yesterday I got finally called for my first interview, and within 2 hours after leaving the office, I got a job offer. I didn't hesitate and asked the hard question, it was definitely a significant factor for my success. I'm starting on Monday!

I try to exhaust every single technique to do something before asking for clarification. You are absolutely right 100%. I think that your voice sounds patronizing but everything you said is valid.

Your interview tips helped me get a job in a new field that I have been trying to transition into. It wasn't even an entry level position! Thank you! Thanks for the tips here too because I start next week.

I agree. Being self sufficient or trying to be is so important since your considering your managers time AND shows you are proactive ☺
