Northern California Outreach Specialist Jean-Paul Torres shares what LGBTQ+ Pride Month means to him. He states that he appreciates and embraces the “chosen family” he is a part of and that it allows him to be the best version he can be. He shares the importance of the chosen family and to be in solidarity with members in the community from non-binary trans and other queer members of the community—and to ultimately stand together in face of all the hate that exists—so that they can overcome anything that comes their way.

I am excited for your project and I am happy for this person and his inspirational story.

There is more to be done (especially with the state of things at the moment), that is certain - however I'm not sure how suited CHSR is to this purpose, they can advocate for it and more advocacy is useful.

I guess I find it disconcerting that large organisations involvement in pride could drown out the voices of general people and of revolutionary types - becoming more sanitary.

I am however glad that rather than just being the general rainbow logo and products expected from most organisations you have given this individual a platform to share his experience. Thanks
