Thanks for channel! A thought: I think papers that are as applied to live use cases would be cool. And/or explaining the connection from a paper, to applied work.

For instance, a paper about AI techniques that impact video editing, might relate to what Runway ML or someone else is doing — or in concept what those techniques could enable.

Broadly speaking, I’m curious about when creators making videos will use AI tools a lot — said another way: what AI papers / techniques do you think indicate advances that could substantially be useful to you for creating videos?

I imagine that text-to-video for making various scenes could be helpful. I wonder how easy those will be to use — then also the question of: how does that AI made content end up making it into one of those videos? For example, with short form video.

To be specific, a creator of short form video might tell a story and have various cuts in the video. Or use AR filters. I guess the components of AI related possibilities include:
- Create a song
- Modify a voice
- Create a person
- Generate a story / revise a story
- Make a background
- Upscale the photo/video
- Generate multiple versions of the same video, in order to try out what version might be appealing
- Suggest ideas for an intro or outro — perhaps specific to the audience of people you want to reach, or who typically are interested in your content
- Generate feedback on your content via the AI
Etc

I imagine exploring these kinds of use cases via papers would be quite interesting given you are a creator as well. Thanks!

I have a weird question, how can a person become proficient enough to read the state of the art research papers like you do? I assume college courses are not enough as I'm a college student and most of the research just goes over my head. So where can I start learning about a particular topic in depth (say NLP) so that I can begin to understand how the field is developing, what are the current problems and how they're being solved.

Congrats Aleksa from a HUGE fan of yours! I just want to ask you 2 questions, 1. to break into AI, do you recommend doing a CS degree over an AI/ML/DS degree? As I feel like having software engineering skills is going to take me further in the AI field, 2. how do you keep up to date with the latest research in AI and choose papers to learn from/implement from scratch? I feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of papers coming out every day but also very inspired by your approach of quickly getting past the phase of learning from courses/books and actually read the papers as they are at the forefront of AI research. Hi Aleksa, Thanks a lot for your videos. I have one question regarding DeepMind hiring. Do you know if it is important to be based in places where DeepMind has office? I'm oustide EU and US and my applications were rejected (for intern) without even geeting invited to any interview, altough I have a strong math, ML, and DL understanding. Any advice is appreciated.
