Warning issued over new Amazon phone scam

Do you have any orders on the way from Amazon? If so, you are a prime target for the latest Amazon scam.

I got the same call. I just went to my Amazon account to see what orders I had. Easy peasy.

They called me twice and left messages . One amount was $1499.00 and the second was $129.00 . The third time I pressed 1 and a man with an India accent answers and I yelled at him telling him “ I don’t know what kind of scam you’re pulling, but take me off your call list” I didn’t get any more calls. I get lots of robo calls. Someone is selling my information. Like Facebook...

I got an automated call today (in Sydney) both of my children have also been rung in an attempt to scam them. I worry about the elderly and feeble. Families and friends please role play scenarios, and show the elderly short videos about how prevalent scammers are and never to give identifying information to anybody over the phone nor to door knockers. In Australia there is a do not call register. This is the first call of this nature (in years) since I registered my home and mobile number to the do not call register.

Who is dumb enough to fall for this? They called yesterday and told me that a John Penn in Dayton, OH had purchased $700 in gift cards using my account. I told them that I was aware and the my uncle John in Ohio had my permission to use my account any time he wanted and to let the charges go through and he had already reimbursed me for the purchase.

It's even worse now, they use another person's phone number to contact you. I had one just now and one yesterday. I hung up on both occasions ringing back the number of the first. Poor lady sounded confused so I explained what had happened.
Anyway I hope these maggots are caught and face some serious jail time, actually bring back some decent justice before this shit gets really out of hand

I’ve gotten a phone call on Monday Dec 5. I was really shocked & shaking all over after these EVIL DECEPTIVE SCAMMERS ARE GOING to get what’s coming to them!!! LOOK OUT YOU WHO ARE DOING THIS EVIL CALLING on others to hurt them. Ruin their lives!!! You’re going to pay BIG TIME!!!

I almost got scammed the caller was from India and said he’s from Amazon fraud department…He didn’t know my name let alone anything else…Besides your bank or credit Union is who will call with a fraud alert….Amazon will email you as well

Let all phone calls go to voice mails, and turn off the ringer. Do not hit any number, but 7, which is delete, or 9 to save the threatening voice mails.

do call it. I do. I talk to them for a long as I possibly can. I give no info. just talk and act interested. longest I've gotten is 2 hours. was at home by myself with nothing to do.

I'm getting these now its 729.00 I have up to 25 voice mails and its always some Indian guy.

I received this type of call. I told the scammer he was a dishonest person and go steal for someone else. You could hear a whole room full of phone reps working this scam. A room full of thieves!
