Rollout Mig Flux/Pipe on Welding Positioner

We are doing a little Welding Positioner series this month and first up is Abraham Medrano Lead instructor of The South Coast Welding Academy. He will be doing a MIG root pass and a Flux Core fill and cap on a 12" pipe. Check out the little welding trick on the cap! Hope this helps someone out! Peace.

Good stuff bro I did this for years in fab shops all production welding on piping. Did some with aluminum backing straps and some open root some on positioners and alot in position from mining draglines to skids.This is a Very good tutorial good job Abraham i wish this was around when I broke out 20 years ago. I had to learn by trial and error and dedication. You young welders absorb this knowledge in welding it will change in every job with different procedures.

Please write what parameters you use:
-The root was welded at ...volts and .... rpm
-Filled pass welded at .... volts and .... rpm
-The transition of welding is welded at ... volts and .... rpm,
-What is the gap between the pipes, what type of welding wire.
