Not a single team that qualified for the 2022 World Cup made it to the AFCON quarter finals, that is genuinely insane

Imagine we get an Angola-Cape Verde semi-final.
It would literally break the Internet.

It has been a tradition for the last 50 years, my Morocco always gives us hope before taking it with the most cruel way. Hhhh, congrats to 🇿🇦

The quarter finals consist of 8 different nations compared to the last edition. And none of them were 2022 World Cup participants

If Cape Verda’s wins ima lose it how can they out last a country who set a record two years ago and outlasting players like Mohamed Salah is crazy

As a South African i feel like we look like we are very consistent this time we control the ball very well and also defensively we look very sharp and these days defence wins you games but im not saying we gonna but i think we have a very good chance 🇿🇦💪

As a Moroccan, I can confirm, we looked absolutely worthless in the game against South Africa. There were no quick passing sequences, and whenever someone gets the ball they would just stand over it and start spinning in circles until they lose it. Their brains can't even process how to pass a ball to a teammate normally, they either end up holding it for too long and lose it, or they make a terrible pass and lose it as well. And don't get me started on how everyone in the team just decided to suddenly forget how to control a f*cking ball, they can't even move forward with normally, they just seem to forget how to use their f*cking legs. It was an absolute catastrophe, absolutely no one thought we were actually going to get knocked out by South Africa, but our National Team never fails to blow our minds with these types of disastrous upsets. Everytime they would receive the ball, they would start playing their boring passing sequences between the Defenders. At first I thought they were trying to stretch South Africa and make them leave their Low Block positions, but the boring ball play in the Defense did nothing at all.

Shout out to South Africa, they played well, and were much more composed, calm, and efficient. They were the better team from the beginning to the end of the Match, our players looked like early homosapiens just learning how to use their legs or how to progress the ball forward.

And our Commentators were just making it worse by saying that we were absolute sh*t, because their is 90% Humidity in the Stadium. No, we were absolute garbage because we always fancy ourselves against other teams, that's why.

Egypt and Senegal really fumbled the bag. If one of them just won they would have had a very easy run to the final.

My god it’s crazy how the African countries that qualified for the World Cup didn’t even make the quarterfinals of the afcon. It’s funny to think that those nations can qualify for the World Cup but not for the quarterfinals in their confederations tournaments

I can't believe that the giants are out of AFCON except Nigeria!!😱😱

Meanwhile, the Asian Cup is still not without a surprises. The four big favourites in this tournament (Japan, South Korea, Iran, and Australia) are facing each other in the quarter finals (Australia vs South Korea and possibly Iran vs Japan), while host Qatar, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Jordan can deliver yet another big upsets in this tournament after the likes of Iraq and Saudi Arabia are dumped out in Round of 16.

I think this goes to show how much stronger the rest of Africa(not north Africa+ Senegal) is. 11 World Cup Spots is gonna be a fun ride

Literally anyone could win now.
As an Algerian, I kind of find this funny
