Ghana 🇬🇭 are underrated
Their run in 2010 was amazing but unfortunately it was ruined by one man

The competition is expanding, and teams are becoming stronger and stronger. It's all going to come down to the coaches and how they exploit formations based on the players

In my opinion, Cameroon is the most successful African team. They won 5 AFCONs, second to Egypt and two of the AFCONS they won only had 3 teams. Cameroon has gone deep in the World Cup and has more recent success than Egypt in AFCON and World Cup since they beat Brazil in the 2022 World Cup while Egypt failed to qualify, and Cameroon won the 2017 AFCON as their most recent while Egypt’s most recent is 2010.

As an egyptian, I think if we are being objective cameroon is prob the goat african footballing country as of rn. Olympic gold medal, 8x wc qualifier, 5x afcon champs, and a quarter final appearence, and the GOAT african player in Etoo (FIGHT ME). I tip my hat off to them

To be clear, Egypt has a unique feat that every countries around the world didn't. Ironically, they were on the same level as Spain when both countries had a golden period during the 2000s.
While Spain won 2 Euros and a World Cup between 2008 and 2012, the Egyptians had won 3 AFCONs in a row between 2006 and 2010. The 2009 Confederations Cup was so more surprising. Even though they finished last due to the denting defeat over USMNT, they had forced Brazil, the eventual winners, to only won by Kaka's penalty in dying minutes after the Egyptians scored 3 in a 3-4 defeat and also stunned the previous World Cup winners Italy.
Unfortunately, the decline of golden period also coincides with the end of Mubarak's era as a result of the Arab Spring revolution, as well as the Port Said riot that killed the football in country for two years. Even though Mohamed Salah was such the best player in Egypt than the predecessors like Mohamed Aboutrika and Ahmed Hassan, the Egyptian football was not the same again. They lost 2 AFCON Finals in 2017 and 2022, and had a disappointing 2018 World Cup campaign.
If Egypt's 2010 World Cup dream came reality without a shock loss over Algeria, it would have been a different story.

Morocco have some good world cup runs but not enough AFCONs, I would say that Cameroon are the most successful nation in Africa through history, balancing between world cups and AFCONs

Algeria are alright
2 afcon
Won Arab World Cup 2022
And although they haven’t qualified for the last 2 world cups their 2014 wc run was rly good
They also have many class players
And u can’t forget their 199 smth win against Germany

Cameroon is the only African nation to beat the two big pitbulls of Conmebol: Argentina (in 1990) and Brazil (in 2022)

As an Egyptian, the part about egpyts world cup runs are forgettable, that's wrong. They are so memorable for how bad they were 😂

Ghana are close to be World Cup semifinalist but Suarez prevent Ghana an open shot goal by handball and gives Ghana the penalty with a red card. However, Asamoah missed the penalty to win leading the overtime and Uruguay wins on penalties breaking Ghana's hearts. After that, Ghana would hate Suarez to this day. Ghana could have been the most successful African Team if this would not have happen. 🇬🇭
