While I have an accountant for advice, decision-making is ultimately on me. To make my life easier, I embrace automation wherever possible, especially for energy-draining tasks like expenses and preparing for VAT returns. I've learned that tackling these responsibilities little by little, rather than letting them build up, helps reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed. However, there are certain aspects of running a business that I find less enjoyable, such as handling invoices and administrative tasks. My passion lies in the actual work I do, not paperwork. But I've come up with strategies to stay on track and stay motivated. By setting deadlines or rewarding myself with more exciting tasks, I incentivize myself to complete these necessary but less thrilling activities. One challenge I face is finding time to prioritize my business. With so much on my plate, I must make time for marketing and continue my professional development. Currently, I'm pursuing a master's level qualification in coaching and mentoring, and I'm also working towards becoming a chartered manager through the Chartered Management Institute in the UK. These endeavors excite me, so I ensure they have a dedicated space in my schedule. The administrative tasks may be squeezed in, but the time for professional growth and development takes precedence. Ultimately, being a self-employed CEO comes with unique challenges, but with the right mindset and strategies, you can successfully navigate them.
