In this video we show how to change or replace the diaphragm in Orbit's heavy duty automatic in-line valves (both 3/4-inch and 1-inch). This uses a Phillips screwdriver (but a Flathead or 5/16" hex can be used also). Part number for the diaphragm is 57045 or 57025.

My 1 year old valves wouldn’t close when I started up my sprinklers this spring. I followed these directions but also cleaned the diaphragm, stretched it to make it more pliable, stretched the spring out to make it stronger and tightened the solenoid down really tight and lo and behold it worked properly again. Hope this helps someone. Good luck.

I have this valve and it worked great, until I opened the solenoid more than 1/4 turn. After that it doesn't turn off anymore. I took the it apart multiple times and it's all clean. The valve is new and has not been really used. Is there anything I can do? Right now I'm just thinking to order a new one and call warranty on this one.

What's the purpose of the little white piece penetrating the diaphragm?

why can't I find new diaphragm's for your heavy duty valve at Home Depot or Lowes. They do sell the valve.

I am adding a third station to my system. The existing valves are 3/4" but I mistakenly purchased a 1" valve. Can I just use PVC reducer fittings? Thanks.

All 4 of my valves of this style are leaking. I disassembled one of them and cleaned it twice and can’t get it to close so I bought a replacement. I’ve now cleaned the other 3 and I’m hoping I can get them working. Skeptical.

I installed this system about 4 months ago in my yard, however I didn’t notice until I recently hooked it to the water line, that 2 of the sylonoids are cracked! it’s all glued in already, so I don’t want to take the whole assembly out to return it. How do I get replacements under warranty, and how do I install them?you didn’t show that in this video.

New valve! Exact same valve, will open but not shut off, it will make a sound trying & reduce water or shut off for a second or two, then it will remain open. Could it be the solenoid

What is the difference between this new valve and the old jar top valve ? I noticed my jar top plunger rubber gets stuck (rubber gets glued to the inside during the winter).

What is the life expectancy for the diaphragms? Mine are only a year old and don't close completely. I opened it to make sure there wasn't any debris but it's still leaking. Does the diaphragm need to be replaced?

I have a 4-valve setup. I had to replace the pump that supplied the water for the system and now the valves won’t work at all. I can hear the solenoid kicking in but no water at all from any of the 4 stations . Any comments greatly appreciated

I have this exact valve and an unusual problem: once the clock opens it for irrigation, it does not shut it off. I have to manually close my sprinkles. Then, I guess the pressure builds up, shuts down the valve, because once I open the sprinkles manually after just minutes of closing them, the water does not come out until the next time the clock opens the valve. Please help, what should I replace. I don't want to cut pipes and replace the entire valve. It's only one-year old.

These valves are junk. Now I am going to have to re-do the whole manifold. These leak after a year. The last ones lasted 40 years.
