Critical reflection on WU’s handling of the Nazi era

At the event, we looked at Jewish life in Vienna in the context of social acceptance and rejection, from the end of the 19th century until 1938, and we discussed the emergence and spread of anti-Semitism together with international experts. In addition, we also presented WU’s research findings on the awarding of honorary doctorates to individuals with close ties to the Nazi regime and our findings on displaced members of the University of World Trade. In this way, the event commemorated all members of our university who became victims of National Socialism.
