I think you need to go into the settings and let the 67i know that you are driving, not hiking. You need to select the correct activity. I'll have to dig into the menu on mine and confirm that, though.

Hi, you can indeed drive with the 67i, less ideal but it does the job if needed. Make sure you have a routable map (i use the Open Street Map) and create a new profile specific for driving. Under Setting > Routing select Automobile Driving (under Activity) and Lock on Road Enabled. Route calculation and recalculation is pretty fast as well!

I use my Garmin 67i also for navigation while cycling.

35 km/h in tight streets with buildings covering the sky. No problem for the device.

I make sure before the ride that the selected sports profile is cycling.

I also started to use Komoot to plot my trips and Just navigate with my Garmin.

Really enjoy the video! Just received my unit a week ago and have learned a lot. I live near the ocean and have heard mixed opinions on blue chart3 compatibility. I went by the roundabout way printing marine charts from caltopo baselayers and loading them in as custom maps but the resolution of the raster is less than ideal. Thoughts on blue chart3?

If you get the Garmin City Navigator and choose the automobile route, the 67i will not look for trails.
