Viewer Question: Mitch Fleming - John, a few weeks ago I finished watching Dexter for the first time. I wasn't a fan of the ending, but overall I absolutely loved it and have been very excited for this revival they're doing. Now my excitement has been raised: John Lithgow is gonna be returning in a small role as the Trinity Killer. I know he'll likely be a figment of Dexter's imagination this time around for obvious reasons, but his performance in season 4 was one of the best aspects of the whole show, and this news is awesome! Your thoughts on Lithgow returning?

John, your story about Michael C. Hall reminded me of my own similar experience from a few years ago. Butch Patrick - Eddie Munster himself - was doing an in-store meet & greet signing thing (with the Dragula and the Muster's Coach!). A friend of mine had been excited about it for more than a month, and the DAY BEFORE the appearance, she had to go in for an emergency appendectomy.

I told Mr. Patrick about it, and he asked if I could get her on the phone, so I did. He talked to her for probably 3-4 minutes, at most, but it was so cool of him. He didn't need to do that, but he did, all his idea, I was just telling him about my friend that was sad to miss him. I swung by her place and dropped off an autographed toy that she had me get signed, and she was downright giddy. That was probably 2 hours after the call.

You're absolutely right, when celebs take the time for those things, it elevates them to fans.

I personally loved the finale, also season 1 is my personal favorite but I am very happy for Trinity to be back in any way(although my favorite Big Bad of the series was Isaak Sirko played by Ray Stevenson )

I started watching in 2007 when season 2 was on air in America. So been a fan pretty close to the beginning. Australia was a year behind so season 1 aired here in 2007 when America was on season 2 lol.

I didn't like the last season (it was unfocused, chaotic and BORING af) but I respected the finale and the ending. As for Lithgow, I remember the original showrunner saying that in his ending Dex would be sentenced to death and how he would see all his victims in the audience. Maybe they're shooting that?

I liked Dexter so much that bad finale did’t ruined it for me. Up until the last season I loved everything.

Man, everyone references Clancy Brown's Kurgan and Shawshank roles. And they are both fantastic, but he will always live in the darkness as Brother Justin from Carnivale.

His best work, in my opinion. Of course he usually makes anything he's in better.

More on topic, I can't wait to see both Clancy and Lithgow in Dexter.
