No other metal album has aged this well, just timeless, perfection.

It's strange that the loudest, most aggressive music allows me to concentrate the best. Does anyone else have that experience?

The only bad thing about this album is that it ends. Absolutely a masterpiece.

Orion is simply one of the greatest rock instrumentals of all time. This song turned me into a Metallica fan.

Back in 86 i worked at a record store. We could not keep this in stock. When it.came out on CD a whole new audience was introduced to this amazing album. Great stuff will certainly be on all music platforms. Classic.

Cliff Burton died for this album. Rest in peace that man. He's really what set Metallica up with everything they needed to get the whole band going. Cliff was around since the first official album and the bass guitar you hear in this album was his very last contribution to the music community before he died. Let that thought sink in for a moment.

On this day in 1986, Metallica blessed the world with this masterpiece.

It’s not necessarily THAT overrated, it’s just REALLY that good. Your ears don’t deceive you. This album is S tier. The most ‘classical’ and ‘articulately beautiful and sophisticated’ they ever were. Thank Cliff Burton for that. He’s a key reason why this album is so legendary.

This album changed my life forever. Especially now that I am free from drugs. It is one thing to hear it. It is another thing to listen & to feel it.

My first band played the song " Master of Puppets " at our first gig, in 1992. I asked someone in the crowd if he enjoyed the show. He said he loved it, but we played Master of Puppets too fast. One of my favorite compliments I've ever gotten.

The album was recorded with the following equipment: Hammett's guitars were a 1974 Gibson Flying V, a Jackson Randy Rhoads, and a Fernandes Stratocaster copy; Hetfield used a Jackson King V played through a Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ amplifier modified as a pre-amp; Burton played an Aria Pro II SB1000 through Mesa Boogie amplifier heads and cabinets; Ulrich played Tama drum equipment, and borrowed a rare Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum from Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen.
