Everyone commenting on James' alternate picking; give the guy a break. He's been the downpicking god of metal for almost 40 years. He's 55 years old. Who knows, maybe he's got some problems in his hands from all the wear and tear over the years? If that's the case, he maybe needs to slow down a bit to keep playing in the future. In any case, still a badass performance from a badass band!

James is a fucking beast. I remember seeing interviews with him where he said he wanted to be the best rhythm player and basically be the soloist rhythm player or however he worded it. I know he has some solos in a few songs, this, Nothing Else Matters, Suicide and Redemption and whatnot...but seeing his face in this playing that solo, he fucking enjoys what he's doing. I love it
