I'd love this to expand into a series. I've been looking for info on how to build a chat bot for over 6 months. I'd love to learn how to take this initial app.js and build functions not included in tmi.js into it; plus a GUI would be super cool to build. Just some ideas from a self-taught web developer :) Keep up the great work.

I think nodemon would be a good addition to any sort of bot like this, more people need to use it. Auto relaunches the node application on save, it is so nice and prevents all the control c, y, node app.js, as it does it all for you on save.

Regarding part 2, my buddy who is a twitch addict asked me if I could code him a bot that would either whisper him or name him in chat to notify him when a channel he subscribes to starts a stream or goes online, just an idea of where you could take the bot, take care !

I got my bot to work, right through the Windows command prompt, without needing mIRC or any other software.
Amazing! My only fault was that i didn't follow the guide closer.
