Finland would 'make NATO stronger': Finnish diplomat

Finland's Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Satu Mattila-Budich says Finland would certainly “feel safer” if it joined the NATO alliance, but the country is also a “security provider”.

“So, we have (a) very strong military,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Hopefully ... if Finland joins NATO, we will also make NATO stronger.”

NATO leaders are expected to formally invite Sweden and Finland to become members before the end of the summit in Madrid, after Turkey dropped its objections to their applications on Tuesday.

Say no to Finland and Sweden. U.S. public officials should explain how the expansion of NATO adds to the security of my home in the Midwest of the U.S.. We spend more on defense than the next 11 countries _combined, _ and I am ready to put the bloated military-industrial complex on a diet.
