Matt Leib - Making sense of HPE storage, finding what you really need
Показать описание
1) Using the family Snapshot graphic, I’ll explain the full stack of HPE storage from the MSA to the XP7. In this section, I’ll outline the positioning, features, advantages and benefits of each step up the line.
2) In the software section, I’ll talk about Cloud Volumes, and how it benefits an architecture regarding cloud based storage, how it incorporates itself into an AWS architecture, and how it ultimately saves the customer money. I’ll then move on to the predictive analytics structure of InfoSight, how it’ll save the customer future headaches by informing the customer of hardware/software issues, firmware issues, and advises about providing updates/upgrades to these categories of the equipment that connects to the 3Par/Nimble environments.
3) Simplivity, though an HCI architecture really shows its magic in regards to the OmniCard which uses a Floating Point GPU to assist in replication, deduplication, compression and metadata offload. The storage elements of this HyperConverged architecture truly set it aside from the competition.
4) Composable architecture, in the vein of Synergy, and how it’s beneficial, in terms of ease of deployment of images, and profiled storage/Compute and Network deployment. I’ll also touch on the Flex Capacity financial model of acquisition which adds roughly 20-30% overhead architecture, while not charging for unused components. In so doing, a company can always be assured that there is growth availability as opposed to consistently requiring the purchase of additional equipment.
