Black people discovering tool the last several years, whether it be the hip-hop culture, gospel, blues, jazz, whatever-culture...has been one of the greatest things on the internet.

Working metal drummer here. This was a monumental task for ANY drummer to pull off. My man did a stellar job being able to play The Pot in an hour to any level of success. Absolutely killed it! What a talent. Thank you for sharing. 👊

I'm primarily a metal guy, but watching Gospel drummers is my new addiction. Great channel! All of these players featured are incredible. The mixing is top tier too!

Not only is he playing tool for the 1st time, but i noticed twards the end of the performance that he never uses the 2nd kick, my dude's just single kicking it old school style! DAMN!

Danny Carey is a beast. Being close to what he composed in 1h is quite impressive. Kudos!

Man, I love this. The algorithm must have sent me from Drumeo. But I know most of the drummers from there. I've never heard any of these guys, and they absolutely shred it. So good to see them show off their talents in a format that is not easy. Keep it coming!

Why do gospel drummers always have great sounding drums, especially tom tones??

Considering he only took an hour, this was REALLY good. He kept it musical, he kept it in pocket, he opened up in the right places and kept it in range, solid performance.

I'm a dancer and I've always considered musicians to be magicians, and drummers in particular. But THIS? Pardon me, but Gawd DAMMM! The mental, physical, and soul ability it takes to THIS??? The University of Colorado studied meditating monks' brains, including the Dalai Lama's, to see what happens during and after meditating. They need to study this guy's brain when he's doing something like this. Just wondrous. BRAVO you guys!!!

trying to learn a Tool song on spot and mimic one of the greatest drumers of all time in rock/metal, while trying to grasp all the different time signatures and parts is beyond insanity. He did great considering the above

Hearing Tool for the first time is crazy enough, but hearing and learning Tool on the same day is something else. If it's any consolidation, Mike Portnoy learned a Tool drum track on Drumeo and it took him over three hours to nail down the skeleton.

When your drumsticks start looking like semi-soft pasta you know you've entered DC-Octopus mode!

Daaaamn that dude crushed it for such short exposure. Especially for not even having heard Tool before, so no concept of how complex they are. Very impressive.

The fact that he was able to pick up the song after listening to it a couple of times and reproduce it to the best of his ability is very impressive.

This kid is a freakin' genius! To have learned that song in such a short time, to have come up with his own spin with those complex rhythms, I am pleasantly surprised!
