Simple Man | Lynyrd Skynyrd (Cover)

This version of "Simple Man" was recorded live to 1" analog tape at Creampuff Studios in Nashville, TN. I think we did two takes, and chose the best one of the two lol.. Although posted in 2016, this video lit up during the pandemic- Up 550,000 views in April 2020 alone. I'm beyond grateful for the attention and support. "Simple Man" wasn't always part of my repertoire- After recording in Muscle Shoals, AL in 2016 (just before this cover was made); being there left me feeling far more connected to the music made there.. the music I'd always loved. I know my version of this iconic song stems from that experience.

My 1st born, my only son, died July 12th, 2020 - I sang this to him when he was born in 1979, we would rock together each morning and I would say these words to was a simple man...a true Texas cowboy who loved the land, his family, the cattle, his dog and the Lord...I miss him so much💔
