Could Georgia’s new voting rules alter the US election?

Donald Trump has promised that his many lawyers will be "watching the sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely".

One place where his lawyers worked overtime after the last election was Georgia, where a criminal trial is pending that could land the former president in jail over allegations he tried to overturn the result.

So it's not surprising that Democrats, voter rights groups and even high-profile Republicans have condemned changes to the state's election rules, which they fear could sow chaos and mistrust.

I would understand this better if the state was Arizona or Texas where there is a large number of migrants, but it doesn’t make sense to call for such changes if it has nothing to do with helping Trump to win the majority of the votes in Georgia. I live in South Florida in Broward County and we never have issues with our voting process. Mail in voting is the popular choice and you can place your sealed ballot into a guarded locked ballot box at selected libraries throughout the county. Easy Peasy.

Americans bear significant responsibility for this dangerous situation. Trump, whose history is filled with recklessness and unlawful conduct—including failing to pay his contractors for constructing his vanity projects—should never have been elected president in the first place. His payment to a porn star in 2016 was a successful effort not to affect his electoral campaign, despite his lack of qualifications. His aggressive tactics, lies and sheer ignorance have carried him this far. Interestingly, Trump and I share the same birthday in June and are the same age. He has frequently made headlines for his bizarre behavior. Following the insurrection that resulted in the deaths of five security personnel and left 140 security personnel hospitalized, and thousands injured, this inconsequential individual should have faced imprisonment; instead, unbelievably, this useless treacherous character is campaigning for president again with a 2025 platform that is a huge danger to democracy and freedom. Kamala Harris is among the most qualified individuals to run for the White House and restore peace and harmony. She deserves recognition for her efforts to safeguard a nation that does not deserve Trump's leadership and who must be incarcerated. Kamala acknowledged that failure to uphold law and order has contributed to this chaos.
