You should absolutely be required to present ID when voting. It is a simple way to prevent fraud.

I have to show a birth certificate and a marriage license to renew my CDL license to prove I'm an American citizen. I've had this license for over ten years. If I have to jump through hoops to maintain a license, why not proof of citizenship to vote?
