I mean I get both now, Disney Plus and then Hulu Ad free. As long as that doesn't affect my ad free Hulu, I'm down for it.

I think this would be good for Disney+, it would mean that they would officially have to support R-rated content. That opens the door for less limited media, such as the very much not PG-13 Marvel Netflix shows, the Deadpool movies, and hopefully some more hardcore MCU content, such as Moon Knight once it's adapted.

I think this was all pretty obvious when Disney bundled Hulu in with Disney+; it's just a matter of time. Probably one Disney app with channels for Hulu and ESPN.

I thought Disney and Hulu were already "merged" (soft merger) because when you log into Disney+, you get an offer to also get Hulu ad ESPN+ for an additional fee. Some of the Hulu content (Runaways) is already on Disney+ (without the Hulu).

Oh my god, if Young Avengers ends up to be a series in Disney+... They can crossover with The Runaways like in the comics. Oh wow.

That’s definitely going to complicate things for the Animaniacs reboot since WB owns the series but it’s streaming on Hulu.

Comcast owns a 33% stake in Hulu. Could this help Disney /Marvel regain the full rights to Hulk and Namor back from Universal(which is owned by Comcast)?

Disney owns Hulu. Hulu has Jojo. Does this mean that Disney is technically a Jojo reference?

I think one of the things that they are not taking into consideration is the fact that not everyone who subscribes to Hulu has a Disney plus account. my uninformed guess will be that they would lose at least half of those 32 million subscribers that Hulu has right now. Hulu has a ton of licensures that range from television and movies to anime that Disney does not have in its portfolio. If they take away all of that Hulu really has nothing other than a few original movies. So yes I would save 15 bucks a month but big deal.

I think there's going to be a hulu, Espn, and Disney+ categories once you log in, and you can pick any three of those, which would take you to it. Disney + won't change, but Hulu will have choices to pick from like Marvel adult, Fox films and Fox TV, as well as other redefined categories.

If you look into the financials. Comcast still owns a certain percentage of Hulu and will be fully given to Disney around 2024-25. I imagine that Disney would not want to pay more to Comcast because the valuation of the company rises, also noting to the fact that Hulu will not spread internally due to the same reason. Star, Disney’s more adult owned content will rollout internationally instead of Hulu, also due to the same reason.

I don’t want my Hulu account to be phased out I wanna watch my old shows on there and Anime and etc! Just make that Disney 18+ by itself

Curious if they’d up the price if they merged the two, since you’re getting more content. Would love what this means for reviving the Defenders & Punisher shows! No more ambiguity as to where they would have to go as adult content.

Honestly, I see Disney merging all their content under one app in 10 years.

I think if we ever see Daredevil season 4 made by Kevin Feige and set in the main MCU we would have to move away from the Frank Miller run because seasons 1 - 3 have already adapted the most important stories from that run. Season 1 did Miller's version of Daredevil's origins from The Man Without Fear miniseries, season 2 did the Elektra Saga and season 3 did Born Again. I would like season 4 - 6 to adapt the Brian Michael Bendis run and to be important to the MCU unlike the first 3 seasons

I was literally talking about this idea with friends 4 months ago, and we thought “that is the smartest idea Disney can do, putting everything they own under one banner, and making the adult section separate from the kid friendly stuff”.

Looks like we hit the money.
