I have left this comment several times without response. The Skill Builder and other training videos are extremely valuable no question. For myself (I assume i am not alone) what would be extremely useful would be a list of all the training videos that would allow the user to choose specific videos based on the description provided to watch on demand. I know that I (and I assume many others) learn by using the skill in a real life project and using the skill repeatedly. To this end being able to go to a list of available videos and watch that video and other related videos when they are the subject of my current project would significantly increase the value of the videos and Sketchup in general.

Brilliant video. I struggled with making curves at small dimensions. Now, I'll never have that problem again.

Thank for this, exactly what I should have been doing over the last few months creating 3D printed models, rahter than scaling up the model itself, then having to remember to rescale it back down again!

Thanks for bringing up the scalable problem in SketchUp. I think that with good programming this problem could be avoided. The same error trapping routine that gives you the message that your instructions cannot be followed could simply 1) scale up your item, 2) make the change, and 3) scale down to the original size transparently.

Computers serve humanity. Humanity does not serve computers....yet!

Copying components is adding a lot of power to sketchup especially when trying to crear paterns. By moving a single line or object you get very artistic shapes & models that you've never thought before you are able to do with SketchUp's native tools only; without any plugin.

Very good Aaron. I've heard that method has a name. ;) FWIW, if you are working in metric units and scale up by 1000 you can work in meters as if they were millimeters. Or work in decimal inches and just move the the decimal.

Keep up the good work.

Wow, thanks for the tip! I didn't know that editing one component will result in the same being done for other same components! This will save me a lot of effort in my work.

Thanks for showing this great workaround method. It helped me so many times. But, considering this is known issue why not to fix it already?

My problem with this technique is that it is totally disconnected from the real-world intended object. Perhaps if the manufacturing is in metrics it wouldn't be a disaster, but as Aaron "discovered" (heelllooo, Chris Columbus!), Something that looks good may not be practical, or maybe even not possible. Wouldn't scaling in multiples of the native measuring system help? (And, with that, always use dimensions that are the same factor larger.) <shrug> That works better for my use, which is always small, mostly woodworking or aids for the shop, and imperial units

Arron thanks for the response. Not what i was hoping for. From what i can determine there are around 185 Skill Builders and some on Layout. Is there anywhere that I can see a list of those videos which would allow me to create my own list?
Without some reference it is difficult to search for anything anywhere. My experience tells me that unless you have some idea what is available it is nearly impossible to find. If i could get a start on a list then i could add detail to that list telling me what might be in that video. If i am in the middle of a project and need a quick solution to a problem spending days looking for the solution is too cumbersome.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So when you add a component to the tiny component does it get scaled up to the larger component?

I see you use some sort of puck device with your mouse, what is it and is that what enables you to flip the model around so easily?

I thought you were going to pull the phone model off the screen behind you and come out with the 3D printed product

Great video:) i model in meters, then scale by 0.001 at the end and now its in mm.

Oh, and how did you do that cool rounded ridge on the front of the case? Follow me?
