You just knew we we're going to have to come back to this one. The McKinney Family Home Videos continues to haunt us with it's excellent use of sound design, atmosphere, and imagery that is probably going to be the first thing I see when I close my eyes at night. Following the McKinney family as the cult operating behind the scenes slowly starts to pick away at each member. There was a lot of questions raised in the first part, and I managed to come up with a somewhat stable theory going into part 2 where we cover the remainder of the series. So prepare you hazmat suits as we may not come back from this one the same person...

4:00 That's in Revelation. It refers to the two witnesses who are to prophecy/testify of Christ and the gospel in Jerusalem during the Tribulation (a seven year period of terrible signs, wonders, and the last call to the world to follow Christ. It's not gonna be a good time) after the Rapture (the believers are taken to be spared to coming Tribulation. They shall be able to call down fire upon all those who try to harm them. This is for three and half years. At the end of that time the Anti-Christ kills them and their bodies are left in the street for three and half days. After that time they raised from the dead and ascend to heaven. Their leaving coincide with a earthquake that levels 1/10th of the city. Biblical scholars have theories as to who the two witnesses are. Some subscribe to the theory that it is Elijah and Joshua or Elijah and Mosses. There's a few other theories but I can't recall them at the moment.

Honestly? This reads more like a domestic abuse horror. The possibility of the husband beating his family, Lilith could even be an allegory for a past victim? I'm not sure about that, but this seems to me like the husband had an affair and instead of divorce when his wife found out; he could've killed her. Gotten the church involved as well, if his mother is as high rank in the church as I think she is. The Witch Trials were often pinned on innocent women, so maybe "Lilith" and Jessica were punished for not satisying the husband; even though he was the one being unfaithful? And Lilith, Jessica or something else has come to make him 'repay his debt'. By taking or 'saving' the family in a fucked up way if the domestic abuse situation is to be believed. If he is the stepfather, the man looking with the truck could be the bio father looking for his family. This is all speculation though.

EDIT: After remembering a few things, I'd argue some segments could be in reference to Jessica. Such as the "I was never enough." Segment, or 'are you ready to be born' possibly being her thinking about her children while in this abusive or otherwise relationship. If this was her, she could've been a restless spirit and set fire to the church responsible and taken her children "back". Though again, considering the fire of the church and how witches were executed, this could be how many women or even children were victims in that church. Either way Grammy and Dad over there are guilty.
