US Core CPI Cooled, Retail Sales Stalled in April

A measure of underlying US inflation decelerated in April for just the first time in six months, as the so-called core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy costs, increased 0.3% from March. US retail sales stagnated in April after downwardly revised gains in the prior two months, according to government data out Wednesday. Michael McKee reports on Bloomberg Television.

Any CPI talk that doesnt discuss thr recent changes to the basket of goods shouldnt be taken serious. They recently removed Cans of Coffee grounds because coffee prices have spiked. The government is just cooking the books.
