I’ve known about Juneteenth for decades but I have never heard it explained so very well. Excellent job!

Ask yourself, “ why am I just now learning about this piece of history?”

End with this, “ what else am I not being told?”

The more you know.
The more you grow.

Imagine being black & going to public schools for 13 years without ever learning this. I just found out about Juneteenth 4 years ago. Schools need to do better.

It saddens me to know that I am just now finding out about this. I majored in history in college. I took black history at Fayetteville State. So much history has been lost. This was extremely informative.

I am a Caucasian security guard in Tennessee. After stopping several individuals for setting off low grade fireworks at an apartment complex, I explained that the party and the BBQ was fine. However the fireworks would need to stop. They started to clean up the mess.Thay explained the holiday, and I was happy to look up what they were talking about. Your video was the first one I saw and I watched it with some of the members of the party. We all thought you did a great job in explaining the holiday. They cooked me up a burger and we had a great time befor I had to continue my rounds. Thank you. #PerfectSoapBox

Didn't know that.. I never celebrated July 4th because I knew everyone didn't get the, "So Call, "Independence." I was close with my reason, but I've learned something new.

I was sitting there in Detroit looking at all these black folks celebrating the Fourth of July but at the same time shaking my head to see the state of my people and not realize how brainwash we are. If we would stop trying to be accepted and start celebrating holidays that benefit us we will go a lot further.

Thanks for this video. I knew that the EP took a couple years to be enforced but did not know this much detail. All Americans who love freedom should celebrate Juneteenth!

Thank GOD the story is finally being told to the masses. Now all we have to do is update our educational materials so that the entire story is taught in our schools ! !

I have spent years studying "American History" and have NEVER heard mention of Juneteenth. Its a disgrace. This is arguably the moat important day of independence in the countries history and it isn't in a single documentary, textbook, or popular book I have consumed.

I have a new focus on my study of history, and it is a shame it took me so long to desire to fill in the gaps. But if you are not honest, the lie will hurt more than the truth ever will.

Thank you for this amazing piece of American history. I will be celebrating this day right along July 4th.

Like Florance said from the Jefferson, " How come we overcame and nobody told me"🤔🤔

I'm a black West Indian and been in the US for over 20 years and this is the 1st I'm actually learning what it means. A shame, but we need to educate ourselves more.
