Love watching your videos.
You are actually very calming even though you often say you are the opposite.

Hi Emma I've not got an allotment but haven't a clue what to grow in my garden that is new to me. . I am so chuffed I've had potatoes out of sacks. Not very big but tasty. I've also had blueberries from my potted blueberry bush. So Excited.
I love your honesty. Your tips. The scarecrows should be Jack and Jill. or Bill and Ben. . I also love your woolies. Sending positive vibes and best wishes. I hope you feel better soon.

Got your planner through the post the other day. Wrapped it up for the mrs birthday in a couple of weeks but now having to keep putting her off buying a copy for herself without giving the game away. Wish me luck ☺️😉

I would suggest buying a good vegetable growing book or several .
They give a lot of extra information about everything on how to grow vegetables, pest and disease recognition and treatment of such etcetera which are not included on the seed packet
And find out about what your frost dates in the growing area are. I didn't know about how important this is until a few years ago.

I'm pretty sure you DO need to rotate strawberries every 3 years or so to a new site, as diseases can build up and cropping declines, otherwise. As for fruit trees, I'd stick with dwarf varieties and site them well away from main cropping sections, eg other side of the compost bin

Hi Emma
I'm just trying to decide on what to have as pathways. Did you put any material under the wood chip?
Thank you

Emma, great video and most of what you said will be very useful to new gardeners, however, do check what you are saying first efore giving out information. Brassicas do not put nitrogen in the soil, they take it out. In crop rotation they should follow legumes i.e. Runner beans, broad beans, peas etc. Then follow the brassicas with roots such as potatoes, carrots, turnips etc. This helps to control disease, pests and ensures that the crop being grown has access to the nutri3bnts it needs. ie brassicas need nitrogen, root crops phosphorous for healthy root development and flowering plants such as fruit and runner beans, peas etc need potassium. Hope this helps you and the beginner gardeners. You've done great in your allptment, learning so much along thew ay. Happy gardening 🙂

I love love love this series 👌
Do strawberries need to be “crop rotated” at some point?
