I just used your pattern and tutorial to make the cutest quilted purple makeup bag for my son's long-time girlfriend. The outside is made of fabric from my stash in shades of purple (her favorite color), and the lining is a deep teal, silky print that I repurposed from a thrift store skirt. I think she's going to love it! I had never made a zipper bag before but your instructions made it easy! Thanks! Love your channel!

I just got done with my first zipper bag, before I'd watched your tutorial. I watched about 4-5 tutorials prior to sewing, and NONE of them had me line up the zipper teeth or told me to hand crank over the teeth. So I was completely unprepared. Thank goodness I didn't break the needle but I did bind up my machine trying to stitch over the teeth, which EVERY video had shown the instructor doing with no warnings, so I had to stop and take my machine apart. I finally ended up skipping over the zipper altogether on my machine and hand-finishing. The thread hides pretty well but I'm a terrible hand-sewer so I would have preferred to use the machine. So basically, thanks for being the first person to actually show me how to use my machine next time. I want to make more bags, the overall project was definitely the right skill level for me.

Great tip about folding the zip teeth towards the outer... It gave a neat finish.
Tabs at the ends of zips can be useful if your zip is a tiny bit too short, but your way allows the pouch to open wider🎉

Flipping the bag over. Man I like that idea. I get confused which way the fabrics and zipper go.if you flip it over the order is the same. 😮😊😊

You say you would cut the zipper. How do you cut it and how long?

You don’t cut the ends if the zipper off before turning it? I love that it looks more triangular when you fold the block in half. Super cute!
