Is Omonia Athens Finally On The Rise?

I was that drunk person stumbling around Omonia at 0200 in the morning on a Friday during my vacation last October. The funny thing was that I wasn't even staying there, my hotel was in the upscale area of Ermou street. I had gotten lost after leaving a bar and when I realized I was in Omonia I remember thinking, "this is what people are scared of? I really didn't feel threatened at all, so in my opinion Omonia is not dangerous. I think that perception is more appearance based than anything. Everyone perceives things differently I guess, but it's not like Tren De Argua is lurking in the allies waiting to robb you lol

I was last week for four days in a hotel at Omonia. I never saw a problem there.

I stayed last year in omonia while I was in athens I liked how close it was to many places where I was going to visit. It was sad to see the homeless and drug addicts at night but no one harassed me or harmed me or even bothered me in any way. Sure it was not ritzy but it had character! My hotel though was horrible, I don’t recommend exarchion hotel the loud damn elevator chime messed up my sleep at night
