OnePlus 10 Pro VS Google Pixel 6 Pro: Ready To Be SHOCKED?

Once upon a time there was a little smartphone company that couldn't settle.

Well, hold it. It actually started two years earlier with a much bigger company who couldn't succeed making its own premium smartphones. The first three generations of Nexus were a showcase of specs and power with a price to match, so when 2012 brought us the Nexus 4, let's just say we got to meet the true first Flagship killer. It was by no means the best Nexus Google ever produced, but at a $299 launch price which later dipped an extra Benjamin, it was hard to resist the specs for the price.

Oh, right, back in 2014 when genius viral marketing led an unknown company to actually succeed in launching a flagship contender for the price that even made mid-rangers look exaggerated. For a better part of a decade OnePlus took the world by storm, and while the Nexus project is now all but forgotten.

Fast forward to 2022 and it seems that both companies realized that over time, becoming the villain became inevitable. On one corner we have the OnePlus 10 Pro, a phone I'd easily call the best the company has ever made, even if with a strategy that blends both old and new. On the other we have the Pixel 6 Pro, what I'd consider the best Google phone ever made, even if that still means lots of experimentation. If you're wondering why this comparison makes any sense, have a look at the price tags to understand where I'm going. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let's dive in to our comparison.

Two hours or so to charge the Pixel 6 Pro against the 30 minutes to charge the OnePlus 10 Pro deserves mentioning.

Am I crazy for thinking that the 1+ is a better pick? Better battery life, fast charging, brighter display, face unlock, a faster fingerprint sensor, and only slightly worse cameras as a trade-off? Seems like people hate on OnePlus just to hate on it but this 10pro looks solid to me.

I haven't used the OP 10 Pro but I have the Pixel 6 Pro and have been very happy with it. I came from an iPhone X and I still use an iPhone 12 for my work phone. This is the first Android phone I have had since the Note 4 and I am pleased in all of the upgrades. iOS still seems to be a bit more polished but I was getting bored with it so I thought I would switch. I like the output from the Pixel 6 camera and if I take a bad shot it is due to my skills and not the camera. Nice comparison and it is good to see that phones are remaining competitive because we all win

Just bought the 1+ 10 pro, this will be my 4th 1+ device and I cannot say enough good things about them. I've had top of the line Samsung's and google phones and iPhones through work and they never came close to the smooth ui, customizability and performance. Good to see Google gave it a run for its money though.

My last OnePlus was the 5T which was a great phone. I've been with Pixel since the 2XL and now have the standard P6. I think it's the best Android phone I've ever used. Tried the P6 Pro, but I can't stand curved screens. I'm looking forward to seeing what the 7/7 Pro has to offer. If they have face ID or a better on-screen scanner I'll probably upgrade. Otherwise, I'm fine sticking with my P6 for another year.

I hope everyone realizes that the tensor chip at its core is still an exynos chip, I'm just happy that the sales are going to improve for the 7 and 8 so that the 9 can officially be the first 100% google chip by google for google.

And the free passes for Google continue…While it is not the worst phone out there you can’t just ignore the issues with battery life and the bugs they haven’t been able to fix…

The android 12 OnePlus 9 pro can definitely hold its own against the current OnePlus 10 pro. But this is a great comparison to the pixel 6 pro

Selfie camera and color inconsistency on the op10p is the biggest thing holding it back. Hope the 11 changes this

Yeah I had a pixel 6 pro and now the OP 10 pro... I thought I would like the Pixel but not for me. The camera works great. My wife still has her pixel and loves it... I can't move from OnePlus, it feels like home lol

Excellent video. I had the oneplus one for 3 years and now 5T for 4.5 years. Recently flashed Android 12 and Gcam on my 5T and honestly nothing feels like a worthy upgrade. Higher refresh rate and faster processors are not tempting enough. I believe slab phones have peaked. My next phone will probably be a foldable.

I love my first pixel phone with a LG owner for many years and I love with LG did with their phones which gave rise to everybody else copying and improving on their ideas everybody should think LG

The boxier screen of the Pixel reminds me of the Note series, which is far superior imo

I own both of these. I have to say it’s the pixel that keeps coming out on top. It’s not actually quite as smooth as the one plus. If Google scores 8.5 out of 10 for smoothness then the Oneplus scores 9 with the s22 ultra exynos scoring 3!!! Anyway everything else on the pixel in my opinion is just slightly better.

I just bought a "used" (still had the plastic on it) pixel 6 pro for $580, and it is stunning. It was quite the upgrade from my 3a. My wife has a OnePlus 7 Pro, and though it's been very reliable, Google just makes life so much easier.

OnePlus is digging it's own grave in India - the market that made it what it is today. The OnePlus 10R is pure garbage. Feeling sorry for the brand!

I have just gone to a Pixel 6 pro ( from iPhone ) and so far pretty happy. Sure in places it’s not as snappy or as stable as iOS, as I wanted a change ( ie android) it good. The battery life ( or apparent lack there of ) isn’t a huge issue. Great informative content.
