Suggestions on the iron situation:
Always check if the hotel provides iron & board... even if not in the room the front desk may have. (I've never experienced a hotel without one > we usually stay in Marriott's.)
Also for men's dress shirts, cotton clothing etc try dampening the item, shaking it out & hanging it in the bathroom to dry overnight works wonders. Or take a shower & hang clothing in need of steaming on the back of the door > this also can remove wrinkles.
