How to Connect GoPro Hero to iPhone or iPad Using Wifi

This video shows you how to connect your GoPro Hero camera to iPhone or iPad using Wifi.

Connecting your GoPro Hero camera to your iPhone or iPad using Wifi is necessary if you want to control your camera, see files on your GoPro Hero, or update your device from your iPhone. This also makes it possible to stream to Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo, and other video streaming platforms. The process to link your GoPro Hero with your iPhone or iPad via Wifi can be initiated from your action camera, and only takes a few minutes.

And now, let's walk through the process to connect your GoPro Hero camera to your iPhone or iPad using Wifi.

Step 1. Press the "Mode" button along the right side of your GoPro Hero camera to turn on your device.

Step 2. Swipe down from the top of the touchscreen interface on the back of your GoPro Hero. The Preferences screen appears.

Step 3. Tap the "Preferences" button in the GoPro Hero interface.

Step 4. Tap "Connections" in the list of options. The Connections screen appears.

Step 5. Tap "Connect Device." The Connect Device screen appears.

Step 6. Select "GoPro App." The GoPro App screen appears on your device, informing you that you need to install the GoPro app on your smart device to finish connecting your GoPro Hero to your Wifi network.

Step 7. Install the GoPro app on your smart device if it isn't installed already.

Step 8. Launch the GoPro app on your smart device. Your GoPro Home screen appears.

Step 9. Tap the "Camera" icon in the upper left corner of the screen. The Camera icon is a silhouette that looks like the front of a GoPro. The Camera screen appears.

Step 10. Tap the name of the GoPro Hero camera in the list that you want to connect to Wifi. A Searching for Camera message appears on the screen. Eventually, a message that says "GoPro Wants to Join Wifi Network" appears on the screen.

Step 11. Tap the blue "Join" button in the message. A blue circle with a check mark in the middle of it appears on your GoPro Hero touchscreen with a Connection Successful message. That message disappears after a few seconds, and the view through your GoPro Hero camera lens is displayed. Additionally, the view through your GoPro lens will also display in the GoPro app on your smart device.

I have a GoPro hero 11 black and have been having a hard time getting it to work as a webcam on my MacBook Air m1 I even have the media mod kit any advice? Connecting over the GoPro network does not allow web traffic for online meeting or video calls
