If my Go Pro Hero 5 is powered on, can I use this remote to power the camera off and then back on again, or do I have to manually long press and hold the cameras Mode button in order to power it back on?

I've been watching your videos lately and I am definitely wanting to buy a GoPro but when I got to search up online how much would it cost to get a GoPro and when I looked at it, I completely shit my pants for the value of the cameras!Even the cheapest of them all aren't even affordable for me and I only have like a $10 bucks but I really really want to get one even if its the cheapest one but I guess my dreams will not be granted!I still watch your videos and probably stick to them than thinking about buying one!You're awesome man!

It will work with the Gopro6 too. I have both. Works up to 150 yards.

wow, the remote interface still as the same old as HERO4 back in the day instead of the new HERO5 interface. Definetely, this is due to the remote display shape that are now outdated compared to the new square front display on HERO5.

Thanks... It would have been better to have the the wireless on both go to sleep without draining battery life if they weren't being used. (touch either again to wake up the wi-fi) (or use a low power consumption bluetooth connection instead of Wi-Fi. Having to shut off the Wireless Connection each and every time adds time and steps that make it a pain... If you forget to shut off the Wireless, the camera battery will go flat. And you won't be able to use your HERO until you charge it again... The GoPro site says the remote extends your battery life on the camera. It doesn't mention that you have to manually turn off wireless to avoid draining your battery when your done taking a picture. I think GoPro technicians could have done better. Hitting the power button to shut off the camera should automatically deactivate the Wi-Fi. That is an IT matter. and that could be in a firmware update.
