Lived in Wongamat Beach area of Pattaya for 8 months. It’s quiet. Mostly Russian families avoiding the war back home. I don’t drink much anymore. Would take a Bolt into town once in awhile to see the madness but for all intents and purposes, Pattaya for me was just an affordable place to live. I watched the sunset every night from the balcony of the condo I lived in. It was great. Are there prettier beaches in Thailand ? Yes. Are there quieter places in Thailand to enjoy? Yes. But I think it’s gets a bad rap. Lots of YouTubers walk down Soi 6 and then get on their soapbox and say look how awful Soi 6 is. But that’s not how the whole city is. It’s a big city with people just going about their daily lives. Living in hotels in Las Vegas now. Gambling for a living. But once I take care of all my business here in the US. I am going back to Thailand. Great country. Great people. And I will say I loved Pattaya. It was great. And you can’t beat the prices for rent. Pattaya is what you make of it.
If you’re a drunk and want to chase women it’s there.
If you want to live a normal, quiet life. It’s there
Pattaya is what you make of it.

Fiction. I see lots of local women in the course of my day around Jomtien, in a variety of roles, performing the same jobs women perform in western countries. The men here work their butts off on one job or another, many in the heat of the day. Most of the retired/expat men I encounter are sober 99% of the time. We all pick our days and times to 'partake' in the craziness. Most days, we simply go about our business - eating great food, shopping, enjoying wonderful views, exercising or soaking in a pool chatting about life, past and present. Not very different than at home, only in a much happier place, surrounded by much happier people and definitely surrounded by more beautiful & kind women.

I am quite a bit olddr than you and have been here quite a bit longer than you but I do wan to make two comments: (1) all of your points as a relatively new expat thyat your are giving to your non-Thai expat audience is 100% legit, true and same as i dealt with and experienced years ago, so hats off for imparting the the knowledge:; (2) however, you have been here long enough to to actually learn how to pronounce Pattaya (in Thai) - there is a big difference between syllable emphasis (western languages) and Thai tones. In Thai, for Pattaya (best to look at actual Thai spelling as there is no approved Anglicization) there are three "syllables", the first:"Pa" is high tone; the second "ta" also high tone; the last Ya ( is flat/mid tone). As I struggle mightily to learn Thai, best to forget emphasizing syllables as in western languages and ask a local what the tones are. Don't get me wrong, I love your channel- as a much younger guy than me with a positive, encouraging message for a non-expat audience about all the things I love about about Thailand along with the frustrations of it not being like home" . Keep up the good work!

Shooting, island exploration, water parks, golfing, fishing, floating markets.

It’s a long list.

It’s true the central Pattaya zone is a party machine, but there are epic golf courses and nice beaches. I just brought my Filipina Gf here and she loved it. Her mind completely changed after coming here.

7/11s on all corners, bars, bars, bars & more bars. How many bars can one city have, & they still build more bars. The city is SIN CITY for a reason, it will never change. No money there's no honey. TIT

I dont really understand living in Pattaya if you are not doing those things, when you could be in a place like Phuket and get to swim in the ocean everyday, I've never been somewhere like Pattaya where you have this long decent beach but can't swim because it's so polluted
