Addressing her supporters at a rally in Julana, Haryana, for the first time after receiving a Congress ticket, wrestler Vinesh Phogat expressed confidence in the blessings of her people. Drawing a parallel between her wrestling victories and the political battle ahead, she stated, "These are my people. I won wrestling matches with their blessings, and with their support, I will overcome this challenge as well."
When questioned about allegations from BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh that Congress had orchestrated her participation in the protests, Phogat responded, "I will reveal the details later, but it was BJP members who initially sought permission for us at Jantar Mantar."
Regarding her pending resignation from the Railways, she assured that her team is preparing everything legally for the next steps.
On the claim that her disqualification in the wrestling finals was a conspiracy, she said, "Brij Bhushan is not the country. My country stands with me, my people are with me, and that is what matters."
She further emphasized that the pain of losing a medal was lessened by the overwhelming support she received from her country upon her return, but now her focus is on alleviating the struggles of the people.
Addressing concerns about Congress not winning in the region for 15-20 years, Phogat confidently remarked, "I have faced challenges all my life. With the people by my side, I will overcome any challenge."
When asked about a potential alliance with AAP in Haryana, Phogat deferred to party leadership, saying discussions are ongoing. As for her campaign issues, she assured that there are many, and she will address them in due time.
