About the Bay

Situated along the southeast coast of the Island of Oʻahu in the Hawaii Kai neighborhood of East Honolulu, Hanauma is a marine embayment formed within a tuff ring. Agree on a tourist trap part. But still a must visit spot imo. I have some underwater shorts from there if someone is interested 🤙

It's murky and underwhelming because unfortunately it's overcrowded and because people keep wearing sunscreen into the water. I lived there in the late 70's & it was gorgeous. People destroy it so they have to restrict it.
