One of our favorite snorkeling experiences in Oahu, Hawaii is at Hanauma Bay. Over 400 species of colorful fish, green sea turtles, and other marine life call this place home. Due to its calm, shallow waters and abundant marine life, Hanauma (“curved bay” in Hawaiian) Bay is hands down the best snorkeling spot in Hawaii, especially for beginners. Because of this, to protect this beautiful marine paradise, Hanauma Bay turned from a beach park where anyone can go to a nature preserve, where you will need a reservation to enter. The nature preserve, once saw at least 6,000 visitors a day, is now limited to about 1400-2000 visitors. This helps protect the reef and marine life from crazy crowds. In this blog, we will go over everything including what to expect and tips on how to get your reservation successfully.

Was a great time there two months ago. I watched Elvis Video for "No More" which takes place at Hanauma Bay while i was at Hanauma Bay Beach. Very special moment.

Your video reminded me again how good this place was ha ha. The view of Hanauma bay while being at Coco Head crater.

Hawaii is so beautiful! We stayed at Honokeana Bay, Maui, which is known as turtle bay. We snorkeled with the turtles every day, saw bunches of them. It was so awesome and the coral and marine life was beautiful. The turtles would sunbath on the beach around us. I guess it wasn't really a beach because it was large, smooth boulders which the turtles like. And then of coarse the road to Hana, plus the Maui Ocean Center, The Aquarium of Hawaii was neat too. I just wish they would come up with an easy and reliable way to island hop, like a ferry.

❤Love, while snorkeling I stuck close to a parrot fish. Till it bored of me and took off. Truly a beautiful experience. I'm sure there's a lot like this in Florida 😊 I do know how to swim, it was just that the surf sucked me out.

My best memories when I lived there in the early 80's were of snorkeling in Hanama bay!
We spent 6 to 8 hours everyday. We always went way out, and also witches bay looking at the turtles swim.
Unbelievable memories!!!

This video has footage of fish, coral and other invertebrates that don’t live in Hawaii. Some of the video are not even taken at Hanauma Bay. So many of these influencer videos are produced by people or entities that don’t know anything about Hawaii
