love that within 6 hours of the official announcements, Mr. Petrov has written, directed and produced this very professional video. Thank you sir.

I am an aeronautical engineer, and I have often watched gyros slowing down. They can spin holding orientation for a while, then start tumbling chaotically with precession effects. I often wonder if an frb is a narrow radio beam focused from a magnetar being passed across us (lighthouse style) as it tumbles. It would explain the very short duration, and that some repeat.

My very favourite science communicator. At least of the ones alive that is. Utmost respect to Anton and his great work he has decided to dedicate himself to.

TY Anton for another fast burst on FRBs. Most of those took a million years to get here.

Wow this man is literally the "breaking news" for science. Love the work ethic and content. 😊

It's encouraging that there's still so much to discover.

As an artists, the concept UGC10667, a catalogue number, is as blank a canvas as anyone ever confronted. As always, I'm super impressed by the courage required to make graphic representation of the episodes described here.

The forces, the masses, the products created, the potential destructive or disruptive forces from these interactions all fill the mind in a rush, the scale of which surpasses anything in human experience.

When we think about the life cycle of stars, this interpretation has to be a singularly apocalypse. When we think about the life cycle of galaxies, how could this not make a huge mess in the tidy chaos of a spiral?

Reading about what a neutron star is, quite boggles the mind. That there are probably a billion of these just in the milky way, goes a long way to explaining how it is possible that two of these phenomenal objects could collide and that they are just part of everyday business in the universe, which is at once both terrifying and sort of comforting and makes me realise what an absurd oversimplification our species has had to make of the universe in order to conceptualise it.

I think it is wonderful that Anton's great great E04 grandson will bring many of these to us when they happen.

I like the idea that the spin stops them from collapsing... makes sense.

An awesomely Stellar video as usual thank you Anton

It’s his significant other. She is the woman behind the success. PS. Your April 1 video was very clever. Peace 🎉

There is also the question of the relative spin axis orientations at the time of mergers. Perhaps different axial relationships produce these similar but variable phenomena?
A subset of this is where axes are aligned, but 180 degrees out, i.e. opposite spin directions. Two counter-rotating bodies merging might have little summed rotation and collapse quicker than two co-rotating bodies.

Anton - you are so awesome and I can't keep up with the awesomeness you release. Have mercy! Much like a collision of neutron stars.

It's interesting to think of collision that massive in nature, happening in milliseconds. Energies that push against relativistic speeds to be over that quickly given the size of the bodies involved.
